A Message from Patron of the Litchfield Rural Show – Kezia Purick

It is with great pride that I welcome you to the very first Litchfield Rural Show.

While we celebrate a new beginning in a new location, the heart and traditions that have made this event so special for more than four decades remain the same. This show continues to be a true gathering of community – where farmers, producers, families, students, and visitors from across the Territory come together to share, connect, and celebrate rural life.

The Litchfield Rural Show is still everything you know and love – a showcase of rural produce, gardening, machinery, equipment, animals, and the talents of our young people. It is still a place where country meets city, where friendships are renewed and new ones formed, and where good stories are swapped over a fresh scone with jam and cream or a sizzling kebab.

What is new is our home – a space that allows the Show to grow while still holding fast to its spirit and purpose. Whether you come to explore the Paddock to Plate, admire the floral displays, or simply enjoy a wonderful day with family and friends, I know you will feel both the excitement of a new chapter and the comfort of long-held traditions.

My heartfelt thanks go to Shirley Preston and the Show Committee and staff for their vision and dedication, and to the volunteers – past and present – who embody the community spirit that keeps this event thriving.

Your support ensures that the Litchfield Rural Show will continue to flourish for generations to come. I invite you to be part of this exciting new journey with us.
